With the advice and guidance from CBSE, the Japan Foundation will hold the In-service Teacher Training Course 2010 for school teachers who are teaching Japanese language currently.
We are planning two courses this year. The courses are designed as follows:
Course A :Basic teaching methodology
Objectives:
1. To acquire basic teaching method, for example, how to use picture card,
how to teach hiragana, pronunciation etc.
2. To study class activities for young learners.
Course B :Teaching methodology for class IX,X.
Objectives:
1. To study teaching method to improve learner's Japanese speaking,
for example, Pattern practice, practice conversation etc.
2. To study how to make question paper for Class IX,X.
Common Objectives:
1. To develop speaking, listening and writing proficiency of the Japanese language.
2. To impart knowledge on methodology in teaching Japanese, especially focus on
the techniques of teaching to young learners.
3. To promote understanding of Japanese culture etc and current issues.
Qualifications:
1. In-service teachers who are teaching or will be teaching Japanese at CBSE
affiliated schools.
2. Those who can attend the course regularly.
3. Japanese proficiency around JLPT Level 3 and above.
4. Those who attended previous courses may attend.
Course Details:
1. Period: Course A July 9,2010 - January 21, 2011 (14 times at all)
Course B July 16,2010 - January 28, 2011 (14 times at all)
2. Date and Time: Course A The first and third Friday
Course B The second and fourth Friday
from 3:30 - 5:30 pm (Break 15 minutes)
- Japanese Language session : 60 minutes
- Japanese Teaching methodology session :45 minutes
3. Total hours: 28 hours
4. Venue: Japan Foundation, New Delhi
5. Contents of Japanese Language session:
You will practice listening comprehension and role-playing using the Japanese
learned in materials as follows: (handouts only for participant)
.Minnano no Nihonbo chokai task 25 (Bonjinsya)
.Erin ga chosen, Nihongo dekimasu (Bonjinsya)
6. Contents of Japanese Teaching methodology session:
Each participant will introduce teaching activates once or twice during the
Course.
Besides, trainer will also introduce them.

A course: UME Japanese for class VI(Goyal)
MOMO Japanese for class VII(Goyal)
SAKURA Japanese for class VII(Goyal)
B course: Minna no Nihongo 1-1 (Goyal)

8. Certificate:To be issued by CBSE and Japan Foundation.
Trainer will make a comprehensive assessment of the record of attendance
(50% above each course) and presentation of activities.
