I. Japanese Studies Overseas
The Japan Foundation Japanese Study Fellowship Program
For the purpose of promoting Japanese studies overseas, this program provides support to preeminent foreign scholars in Japanese Studies to give an opportunity to conduct research in Japan. However, experts in the field of natural sciences, medical sciences, and engineering are excluded.
There are three sub-categories of fellowships: Scholars & Researchers (2 to 12 months), Doctoral Candidates 4 to 14 months), and Short-Term Researchers 21 to 60 days).
II. Intellectual Exchange
Grant Program for intellectual Exchange projects
This program provides grants to cover partial expenses for implementing international intellectual projects (e.g. international conferences). The program is designed to deepen mutual understanding and establish closer relations between Japan and other countries while promoting global intellectual exchange.
