The Japan Foundation invites you to India – Japan Dialogue Lecture Series 2013-14 Part I – Japanese Overseas Students in India in 1950’s: Experiencing the Journey of Japanese Scholars to India,In those days, India was our Hope During 1950’s, although India was facing tough times as it had just won the independence, Indian government was giving scholarship to young foreign students to come to India to study. Thanks to such generous supports, some Japanese students who later became eminent scholars in Japan came to India as exchange students. What did they learn in India? We will trace their journey through their report cards which were kept in National Archives in New Delhi. This time, The Japan Foundation, New Delhi, is inviting Prof. Akimasa Miyake who is currently teaching at University of Delhi as a visiting professor invited by the Japan Foundation, to give us the talk on the topic.
