When applying for Japan Foundation programs, please read the guidlines and eligibility conditions carefully and contact the appropriate office.
The information in these guidelines is also available on the Japan Foundation website ( (http://www.jpf.go.jp/). The application forms for most programs can be downloaded from this website.Please note that we do not accept applications by e-mail. It is advisable that prospective applicants need to contact the Japan Foundation office or diplomatic missionof Japan in advance before finalizing their applications for submission.
II. Applicants
Applicants to our programs need to fulfill the following requirements:
The Prospecitve applicants should be suitably qualified to carry out their planned project.
Receipt of grants or benefits from the Japan Foundation must not violate any laws and ordinances.
For a detailed explanation of eligibility, please refer to the section on each program and the application instructions attached to the application forms for each program.
III. Projecs:
Projects need to fulfill the following requirements to be eligible for application:
The plan for implementing them and method of implementation must be appropriate and should yeild good results.
They must not be used for religious or political purposes.
IV. Deadlines for Applications:
Completed applications must be received no later than December 1, every year unless otherwise noted in the explanation of each program. Please refer to the Program List.
Some programs have deadlines more than once a year. Please read the explanation of each program.
