Conference
We
the students of DPS Indrapuram who learn Japanese Language
were taken to the Japan Foundation on the 22nd of November for a
video conference. The timing was from 9:30am to 12:00pm
On
reaching the Japan Foundation, we were welcomed by Mr. Panda and led into a
room. There we were asked to take a seat. There was a projector and a web cam
so that we could see ourselves and the children in Japan on
the screen. Mr. Akira Yamaguchi, the Japanese Language advisor connected to the
third grade children of Ono Minami Primary school in Fukouka in Japan.
Initially,
due to some technical problem we could not hear their vice, but latter the
problem was taken care of. The children waved the flags of India and
Japan and gNamasteh in Hindi was written on a
chart. We were truly delighted to see that they introduced origami is the art
of paper folding. They showed the model of an insect, a penguin and then we
were asked to identify the model they had made whether it was a shark, a whale
or a dolphin. Though our answer proved to be incorrect, we all liked their
presentation. We were also asked to identify another of their model as whether
it was a pencil, an eraser or a broom. This time, we got our answer right. They
also told us about a game called jankenpon, exactly
similar to gstone, paper and scissorsh game that we play. They also sang a song
for us this ended their presentation.
We
started our presentation by telling them about our Indian games like Pittu, Kho-Kho, Posampa and Gilli Danda. When we ended our presentation, we clapped for each
other and thanking and bidding farewell to the children of Ono Minami, Mr.
Akira and Mr. Panda, we came back to school. This was an excellent experience I
would like to thank Principal mafam and Anju mafam and do it sometime again.
